There have been recent police raids uncovering large-scale illegal cannabis farms right here in Kirkholt and Castleton. In November 2023, Greater Manchester Police dismantled a significant grow operation on Daventry Way, seizing plants worth thousands of pounds and arresting a suspect for cultivating cannabis and abstracting electricity. Another elaborate farm was found on Dunster Avenue, with over 400 plants valued at £500,000, spread across multiple rooms.

These operations are not just about illegal drugs—they pose serious risks to our community:
